Emma Born
of an Army Officer father and part English, part French mother,
Emma Hazarika calls herself a racial "goulash" and
a "Citizen of the World". She has lived all her
professional life in England, with skirmishes in Nigeria and
Assam, pioneering hospital work.
She
started her Charity quietly, and only recently succumbed to
persuasion from friends to make her work public, as a registered
Charity.
A
grateful patient had the following to say: "Highly respected
both in England and abroad for her dedication, precision and
exacting high standards, she has an ever-growing army of deeply
appreciative patients. She is esteemed for her caring and
friendly manner and her skill at putting patients at ease.
Her fulfillment comes from the fact that through her work
she serves to improve quality of life for others. Friends,
too, praise her kindness and warmth. They know how her generosity
has often led her to sacrifice her career advancement in England
to devote her time and money to transforming the lives of
disfigured, poverty-stricken people in other lands."
